The Flash Season 5 Adds Kiana Madeira In A Recurring Role.

With Season 5 of the Flash set to start in October, it has been announced that Kiana Madeira has been cast at Spencer Young, the DC supervillains known as Spin in a recurring role. According to the casting breakdown Spencer has been described as “a young aspiring social media influencer who seizes the opportunity to make herself famous when she discovers there is a new hero in Central City.”

Throughout the comics, Spin goes by the name of Aurebach who first appeared in The Flash #238 in 2008. The character is a reporters who comes across a metahuman with the ability to make people’s fears become reality. Wearing a costume and a mask that works as a television screen, Spin amplifies the metahuman’s powers to harness them for his own gain.

Considering  Spencer Young’s role is an “aspiring social media influencer”, this would definitely help her when manipulating the fears of the Star City. In one of the comic book stories, Spin was able to turn the people of the city against the Flash which is something that could easily be portrayed for television.

In addition to Spin and Cicada, Barry and Iris will have to deal with their daughter Nora who has time-travelled from the future. Season 5 is set to air October 9th.
