The character of Bail Organa, as played by Jimmy Smits, recently confirmed that the character will be making a cameo in Rogue One.
Bail Organa first appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy during Episode II: Attack of the Clones, as well as making an appearance in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
The character has a significant role in the prequels as the senator for Alderaan, as well as being a friend to the Jedi Council, and also being one of the founders of the Rebel Alliance. At the end of Episode III. He also has close ties to Padme and Leia as he adopted Leia when Padme dies during childbirth.
Considering his ties to the Rebel Alliance, it seems likely that Bail Organa will follow members of the rebellion such as Jyn and Cassian as they attempt to steal the Empire’s plans for the Death Star. However big or small a role he has in Rogue One, it would certainly help establish the time jump between Episode III and IV, as well as giving more of an insight into the character himself.
Stay tuned for more Star Wars updates in the near future and be sure to check out Star Wars: Rogue One in cinemas on December 16. May the force be with you.
